Urban Green Tour
The Urban Green Tour is part of Medellín´s continued focus convert once dangerous, or unfit, areas into works of art. This tour passes through the recently finished Jardín Circunvalar, which is located in the mountainous Enciso neighborhood, near the metrocable station, Tres Esquinas.
Jardín Circunvalar is a sprawling reserve with sports fields, playgrounds, trails and one of the best vista points in Medellín; all surrounded with beautiful, lush greenery. This area was developed with the idea of creating a strong sense of community and improving the quality of life of the inhabitants living nearby. Other focuses include expansion control and sustainable housing. This is a very special area of the Medellín metropolis with its own rugged history, which is now dotted with colorful housing, children playing and forested hills. During the tour enjoy learning about the transformation of the area, hear great stories and urban legends about our indigenous ancestors and try a few snacks along the way!
Join us on this adventure and witness the transformation of marginalized areas, walk through forests and ancient paths that have been recovered and, of course, enjoy the best views of the city!
- 8:15AM – Travel to San Antonio station where tour starts.
- 9:00AM – Begin tour with a snack, then board the tramway, taking in the sites, to the Miraflores metro station. Board the cable car and get a view of the outskirts of the city. Once at the 13 de noviembre metro station, disembark and take a guided tour through the natural and archeological paths of Jardín Circunvalar project. Finish the tour atop Sugarbread hill (cerro pan de azúcar) with an amazing view of Medellin.
- 12:30pm-1:00pm – Return to OLSA International for lunch.
